College for me was an amazing experience. I attended the most wonderful, beautiful university I could imagine, had the chance to play the sport I loved and created friendships that are life long.
One of those friendships was with Chris Ayres, a fraternity brother and fellow student-athlete. 
Chris started at Lehigh as a walk-on to our prestigious wrestling program. He went on to become an All-American. A record holder. Truly one of the greatest in school history.
I remember talking with Chris our junior year – he was a redshirt and had two years of eligibility left. He was about to wrap up his requirements for his first major, psychology and decided to take on a second major, business.
What a genius has in IQ, Chris has in work-ethic.
Chris never took the easy way out and was tenaciously disciplined about achieving his goals. So it was no surprise that in 2006, Chris was named the head coach of Princeton University.
At GTG we are always talking about the cross-over of business and athletics. I wanted to share these thoughts about Chris as it represents a premise that holds true in athletics and business – there is no substitute for hard work. Although Chris never worked in “business,” every business person can stand to learn something from him.
