The Big South Conference will continue its long-standing relationship with Game Plan, providing student-athletes and member institutions with a conference-wide student-athlete development platform and career network.

The partnership will play an integral part of supporting the Big South’s core values of athletic excellence, academic centrality, diversity, student-athlete welfare, integrity, equity, sportsmanship and fair play.

“In the Big South our motto ‘Where Winners Are Made’ is more than just a tagline.” says Kyle Kallendar, Commissioner of the Big South Conference. “At our member institutions making winners goes far beyond the field and court. It’s about making winners in life. Our partnership with Game Plan is a key component in this effort since it provides Big South student-athletes with opportunities for career placement, mentorship and professional development, which will assist them in life after college athletics. We are very pleased to continue this important relationship with GamePlan.”

All Big South member institutions will continue to receive access to the Game Plan platform, including 80+ unique eLearning courses (covering topics such as social media, financial education, time management, and more), a comprehensive curriculum on sexual violence prevention and healthy relationships, and Game Plan’s Mentor Marketplace feature. In addition, the Big South Conference has created a career network that allows conference sponsors and partners to publish job and internship opportunities to Big South student-athletes.

Through the first 2 years of this partnership, Game Plan has seen a massive growth in usage amongst Big South schools in all aspects of the platform. Member institutions have leveraged the platform to create improved student-athlete development outcomes through life skills eLearning modules, sexual violence prevention content, and virtual mentorship.

“We are excited to extend our long-standing relationship with the Big South conference”, said Vin McCaffrey, Founder and CEO of Game Plan. “The conference puts the development and welfare of student-athletes above all and Game Plan is proud to play a part in it. The growth of activity over the last year has been overwhelming and we are looking forward to continually helping Big South athletics departments in their student-athlete development efforts”.

As part of this unique partnership, Game Plan participated in the 2018 Big South SAAC Meetings, providing a workshop on the athletic identity to members of the Big South SAAC. “It was a pleasure working with these talented and motivated student-athletes. Interacting with this group shows that the efforts of the Big South Conference and their member institutions are generating amazing results”, said Vin McCaffrey.
