Game Plan is excited to announce its first private high school athletics partner: John Paul II Catholic High School. JPII is located in Greenville, NC and will utilize Game Plan to bring innovative online education to their student-athletes.

Athletics is an integral part of the educational experience for every JPII student-athlete. The benefits are clear: a healthy body and mind along with the skills learned by working as part of a team. These skills include self-discipline, emotional maturity, respect for others, the importance of commitment, and a system of morals.

“We are excited about how our student-athletes will benefit from this partnership with Game Plan,” said John Paul II Catholic High School Principal Craig Conticchio. “The offerings from Game Plan are a perfect fit as we build character through the development of the whole person in mind, body, and spirit. We feel that the partnership will provide our student-athletes tools outside the classroom and away from the fields of play to better prepare them with academic and personal enhancement goals for life beyond JPII.”

The Saints currently field cheerleading, football, men’s soccer, and volleyball teams in the fall, cheerleading, men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s swimming in the winter, and baseball, men’s lacrosse, and women’s soccer in the spring. Softball is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2021.

The JPII Athletic Campus, which opened in the spring of 2019, includes baseball and softball fields, beach volleyball courts, the only lighted field turf stadium in Pitt County for football, lacrosse, and soccer, and a gymnasium for basketball and volleyball with a weight room and trainer’s room for services provided by Youngs Physical Therapy. Currently under construction is a field house that will include locker rooms for all outdoor sports, indoor pitching and batting cages for baseball and softball, as well as additional restrooms for guests.

Through Game Plan the Saints will have the ability to access a full curriculum on pressing topics in youth athlete development such as personal development, healthy relationships with peers and authority figures, moving on to the next level in sports, social media, and more. Game Plan’s mobile app will allow athletes and parents to access these courses at any time and on any device.

“It’s great to partner with JPII as they continue to invest in their resources for student-athletes,” said Game Plan Founder & CEO Vin McCaffrey. “Game Plan’s experience and lessons learned in working with collegiate student-athletes can help the JPII student-athlete understand critical topics such as the recruiting process, NCAA requirements, as well as areas of development such as mental health, social media awareness, and nutrition. We’re thrilled to be part of the development process.”
