This summer, South Carolina Athletics rebranded its student-athlete development program with the launch of Gamecock CEO. In addition to this launch, they also renewed their partnership with Game Plan in the support of these new initiatives to best prepare South Carolina athletes for success on and off the field.

This past spring, South Carolina’s student-athlete development staff worked with Game Plan to create and update branded websites highlighting its new Gamecock CEO program, its growing mentorship program, and impactful employer/career outreach initiatives.

“Our partnership with Game Plan has helped us transform our department and was integral in our rebranding. With the launch of our mentor program, new website, and the custom programming we are preparing for the upcoming school year, Gameplan has been open and adaptive to our vision every step of the way. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them and are excited for what the future holds.”

-Carmen Rollizo, Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development

Game Plan has also been utilized over the last couple of years in the onboarding of student-athletes to the Beyond Sports Internship Program, ensuring the staff has a streamlined pipeline of student-athlete internship applications.

South Carolina has covered important topics such as mental health, the transition to college, and future career interests with its student-athletes through Game Plan’s eLearnings over the years. South Carolina is also now looking to integrate Game Plan’s new create-your-own course functionality to deliver South Carolina-specific eLearning content to its student-athletes.

“The Custom Courses are a wonderful asset to our core pillars. The seamless integration between our Gamecock CEO programming and the custom courses allows for increased accessibility as well as a new depth to the engagement of our student-athletes. The custom courses pave a way for us to continue to amplify our mission to help our athletes become CEO of their lives.”

-Caroline Neil, Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development

With the new Gamecock CEO program, South Carolina is also planning on integrating Game Plan with the innovative Summer Huddle Series which covers such important topics as digital branding, creating their executive image, establishing their identity outside of sport, their core values, and more for its student-athletes.

South Carolina football will specifically be utilizing Game Plan this summer with the new NFL College Outreach curriculum around the NFL scouting evaluation process, the importance of role models/mentorship, and maximizing campus resources, among other football-specific topics.

“Game Plan and South Carolina Athletics truly line up with our shared vision to help support student-athletes throughout the entirety of their individual journeys through athletics and beyond. South Carolina’s new student-athlete development programming and the Gamecock CEO initiative is cutting-edge and we are proud to continue to be partners with such a forward-thinking and impactful athletics department,” said Game Plan CEO Vin McCaffrey.
