The Demons are a member of the Southland Conference and are the 3rd conference member to join the Game Plan team. NSU athletics hosts 14 varsity sports and student-athlete development efforts are focused around the “Victorious for Life” initiative that includes academics, community service, career development, and personal development.

We recently had Student-Athletes from NSU reach out to give their insight and how Game Plan fits into their own experience. Northwestern State has done as tremendous job not only helping to educate their Student-Athletes but have gone the extra mile to help prepare them for life after sport.

“I wasn’t sure what to expect as a new student-athlete. I felt more confident and prepared after attending the New Student-Athlete Orientation and completing some of the Game Plan assignments like Note Taking Basics and Habits for Academic Success.”

“The Game Plan Secure the Ballot courses were really informative and gives student-athletes an idea on what they’re actually doing and why when it comes to voting. With everything going on, I hadn’t made time yet to register to vote but doing the courses made me take the time to register and walked me through the entire process of doing so.”

“As a graduating senior, I wish we would have had the Game Plan courses and topics available to us when I started in college as a student-athlete. I’m just glad to have access to some of the courses now that will help me be successful in my career after graduation. The job interview process is scary and overwhelming. Having completed the Interview courses on Game Plan that were assigned to me, makes me excited to attend the V4L Grad series to help prepare me even more.”

Northwestern State athletics utilizes Game Plan’s innovative eLearning curriculum to enhance student-athlete development efforts in the areas of life skills, academic development, career development and more. NSU will also take advantage of Game Plan’s custom content feature to bring an electronic version of its student-athlete handbook to student-athletes while being able to check for retention and understanding of rules and guidelines in an efficient way. Furthermore, NSU Student-Athletes use the Career Marketplace feature to find local and national jobs, only available to them as Game Plan users.
